Mondays. Everyone loves mondays right? Yeah thats what I thought too. :3
ConnectiCon 2011 was last weekend and I had an amazing time! We got to walk around Hartford, CT and got lost for a bit in the city! haha but nothing to serious!
Hmm there seems to be problem with my ability to post photos in this blog, I'll have to check into that....hmmm
Back to the costumes that I brought to CTcon. Rapunzel (Tangled) and oh course Sinclair (Mando). I think everything went over really well!
I do think next year the Mercs will be getting a table at CTcon just cuz it is such a small con and once you walk around you've seen everything.
I've also been working on my costuming list again.... we've added Sanzo (Saiyuki), Riza Hawkeye (FMA), Blue Spirit (Avartar) and re-do my Jedi robes.
I'm gonna go check on the problem but all the photos from this weekend are posted in the photo gallery.
Thanks!

Okay so we havn't had any time to update in awhile. Work has been odd, very odd over the past month and a ton of stuff has happened. Well as you all know Anime Boston 11' was April 22-24th, we had an awesome time! Wish it never ended. But all good things must come to an end.
Like I said. An awesome time! We had a great turn out of Mercs OM and UOM. There was a bit of phone tag during the afternoons, hahaha but all ended well. The Star Wars dinner was great and yummy! Oh and it rained most of the weekend...or I think it did. hahahaa oh dear!
Moving on.... days before Anime Boston my brother wanted Mando armor and I jumped at the chance to make him armor. You see he was leaving for California with the Marines and what-not. He is coming home in July for a week and then going to Afghanistan for a year.

He is the one in the White bucket!!! I still need to sew some velcro down on the flightsuit buuut it held up during the weekend! I'm so proud of him! My older sister also mention that she'd like to have a kit of armor too! I can't wait to start hers next!
So I am happy to say that I've started drawing again. Finally. Lets hope I don't stop this time.

Over the past few months of living on my own, well not completely on my own with Justin. I've come to understand how important family is to me. My whole life I've always been with family and friends, always. We do everything together and I brokes my heart to see my friends families in chaos.
I'm lucky enough to have a great relationship with my older sister and brother, we go out drinking together at least once a week, twice if we're feelin' crazy. I know some people don't even speak with their siblings let alone hang out with them.
March of a very crazy month between work and family I was going nuts. My mum got a brand new car, wicked jealous!!! But all is well now, I'm leaving the Bakery and going to the Deli. I'm kinda excited for the change though, I think we all need it. I really need to get away from the bakery.
I've been busy cleaning the craft room up. Yes, I know what your think and I found A TON of things I didn't know I had. Awesome right? Yay I thought so. haha
Costume wise.... hmmm Havn't been working on much of anything at the moment buut that wil probably be changing now that AB is right around the bend. SUPER EXCITED!! could ya tell?
Last week I got a bunch of new fabric in for new bags. I'm putting the finishing touches on a bag right now for a friend. She loves the pattern! Hell she picked it out when we went fabric shopping!
When I was at my mum's house today I was cleaning out my old closet and I found two HUGE boxes filled with all of my old sketch pads.... all I can say is WOW! You can totally see the changes and how AWFUL I was at drawing in the beginning of High School and at the end how I was ... eh okay, I guess. Haha.
My uncle Peter gave me a big box filled with hard cover books, most of them Fantasy books. Amazing! He needed to make some space on his book shelf. haha.
Well until next time! Happy Hunting!

Okay so were to begin. Hmm well we'll start with work and figure the rest out later. So work at the Bakery, first off I'm no longer the Manager (thank the gods) so yes it is a good thing. I have no training as a manager and it was a tough spot.
But all is well now! I'm back to being the cake decorator which is great because now I'm the only on in this store. Meaning that I'm always going to be the one to decorate the cakes. Which is very exciting!
My hours and pay did get cut but nothing to bad, its the same as before. I started putting all the photos of my cakes on the website with more to come.
It snowed again today. I'm so suck of the snow, blah I thought we just got ride of it.
Lets talk game video games now. DC Universe online. Holy ****. Amazing. All I can say is go and play it and you'll feel like a super hero or villian. I'm a villian.
I also started to clean my fabric room... you know to see what I have. Soooo much. Need to start making bags again.
Excited for Anime Boston in April.

So i made it a point this past week to go 'job hunting' even though I already have a full time job and have only been full time for three months. I'm just covering my bases here and keeping an open mind... just in case I get fired. fingered covered tomorrow morning that I'm not.
My hunt didn't turn anything up, sadly. But on a lighter note I did have a wonderful end to my vacation. I spent most of it in bed due to being sick but I still got to see friends who were home from school.
We went to a local Flea Market and I got some cool horse photos, cheap too only a dollar per photo. Maybe about the size of postcard. OH and the drawing of a young blonde woman she is dressed as a flapper. There were some really cool handmade bags... or at least I think they were handed made. Really nice though.
Also went shopping with some friends, I got some bag patterns and I've working on mastering on so far.
First off I adore this pattern, I picked it up at a local fabric shop and purchased eight yards for just seven dallors and some change. Its made in India and feather light. I've made two of these bags.
I plan on using them as re-usable shopping bags for myself. But maybe, just maybe someone might want to purchase one off of me.
Wishful thinking. I know.
Tomorrow is the beginning of a new week, back to work for me. Oh joy. Though I should keep my head up on Thrusday Slade is coming over with some more sintra. I'm excited about that becuase then i can work on my brother's armor. I'm hopeing to get started on his helmet tomorrow afternoon. I'm gonna brave the snow and head out to the garage to bondo the two piece helmet I picked up.
Well off to see the Green Hornet. This should be good!! Happy Hunting!

This week I am on vacation, my first of the year i do believe i do get two this year. I'm excited, this is the week I get most of my upgrades for my costumes done. Now that i have all this free time on my hands.
First up is that I ordered all my parts for Zoe Washburne. So hopefully I'll get those in this week and put that all together.
Second, Sinclair's helmet. I did start this already. Did the spray painting and then most of the weathering.
The photos so far. Enjoy. I've finally got around the putting a new helmet together for Sinclair next the mini bacta pack I've been working on.
Some more weathering on the second bucket. We have a HUGE snow storm headin' our way so this is the prefect time to hide in the apartment and get some more work done. I don't think i'm going to be posting any WIP photos on the MERCS website. So everyone who wants to see has to come to me! hahahaha
I really like the way the weathering is coming out. Still needs some work though.... plus I few things I have in mind....

So as the titles says.. Merry Christmas (happy holidays) and Happy New Year!! Can not wait for 2011 to get here!
It has been a very long time since the last post and I am sorry for that. This Holiday season has been very very busy. Between work, friends and family. I have not been working on any new new costumes, though I do have some in mind.
Black Canary being the first one. Food for thought.
We did get our first BIG snow storm last night. I have some photos I''m going to be posting.
Yeah for shoveling!! Love that snow buut sadly i didn't have time to play in it. This was also our first Christmas in the apartment! THE christmas tree and the cat never torn it down or anything!
Guen had a great Christmas too! Playing in the wrapping paper!
